"Fiara" is back in Ghencea! He only has three games before his first match with Napoli, but he promises succes in Europe, the Romanian Cupa and the championship.
"Marius Lăcătuş, Steaua's coach" is one of the most important events in Romanian football even though it's the third time this has happened. Lăcă flew in from Oviedo where he left his family and landed yesterday in Bucharest.
- Mister Lăcătuş, what's next for you and for Steaua?
- We will see, but I only hope for the better. I have faith and I want to say from the start that it was impossible for me to refuse the offer. It is hard to say no the a club like Steaua. Only if I had personal offers I would have declined.
- Your first game is Thursday against Napoli. Isn't it too soon?
- No. I think I have enough time to prepare the game. I didn't get to talk to the team and to the people at the club, but I'm not worried. Why? I have a great squad. It isn't relevant if the players were prepared by me. They are very good players.
- It's true that some players will leave Steaua?
- After my talk with Gigi Becali I think that some players will leave us, but I don't know who. I will talk with him about this and I think that I will have an important word to say in this matter.
- You're the fourth coach this season...
- Clearly this is a record!
- What does your family think about taking over the team?
- My wife and my daughter understand me even though they remain in Spain. It was about Steaua and I think this is why they are behind me all the way.
- You're Steaua's coach for the third time...
- So? I never left here with a scandal so I don't see anything bad.
- Objectives?
- At Steaua you have no other alternative to winning! We will fight for the Cup and the title and also to gain as many points as we can from the Europa League.
