Troubles are coming one after another at Rapid! Olubayo Adefemi (23) refused to turn back to the team, and yesterday he signed a contract for 3 years with SC Rheindorf Altach, "the red hand lamp" from the first Austrian league, being officially represented on the site of the club! The news took the players from Rapid by surprise, who affirm that the player should have been with the team in the training camp from Antalya. "We obtained his visa, but he didn’t got o take it from the Embassy. He also reserved some tickets for the plane. I don’t know what’s in his mind, I think everything owes to an African manager, settled in Germany, who told him stupid things", :X said the general manager Grigore Sichitiu.
They refuse to issue him the "green card"
The leadership from Rapid says that the African midfielder is under contract with them and that Adefemi could not sign with the team from Austria. "We received a fax from Altach, through which they asked us to issue the «green card». I said them to send the player in Romania because he is a good football player. Adefemi received his salary in due time, so he shouldn’t believe that is free of contract. Anyway, nobody announced us that there is a litigation between our team and him. If they keep him, then we have to claim the Austrians to FIFA", :X threatened Sichitiu.
"We want him back, but he will pay"
Even if he signed with another team, although he had another 2 years and a half of contract with Rapid, the chiefs from Giuleşti are glad o receive Olubayo Adefemi again at the team: "He is a child and I am sure that he was wrong advised. They are waiting for him to come back, but he must pay for this mistake. He will be surcharged, according to the internal statute, for every day in which he does not come to the trainings". Authorized sources affirm that the surcharge in this case is of 500 euro per day.
