Steaua continued its run of away games without victory at Brasov, losing 0-1 and further losing sight of the top position. The Bucharest club is now 9 points behind the first placed team in Liga 1.
Abrudan was the only scorer of a very rough match, which ended with a brawl after the home side's coach, Razvan Lucescu, threw some swear words at Steaua's captain, Sorin Ghionea. After 2 minutes in which all the players were on the verge of fighting, the game was resumed.
Steaua tried to find an equalizer in the injury time, but it failed and its dreams of getting back on the first position before Easter look very far-fetched.
