Shon Mekyten said that his offer was extremely serious and that after Gigi Becali’s refusal he wouldn’t like to invest in football
- Mr. Mekyten, was this offer just a sabotage?
- Not at all. My proposal was very serious. We were supposed to meet again on Sunday in order to talk about the details of the transaction. Unfortunately, Gigi Becali changed his mind.
- Why didn’t you make the deal?
- I have the impression that Steaua is a family business. At the beginning, Becali seemed tempted to sell. Then, I have noticed the way he suffered when he received calls from his friends. Everybody advised him not to sell the club.
- Are you tempted to take another club from League 1?
- No. I wanted to take Steaua because it is the most successful team in Romania. It has a great history and a good future, and i want to associate my name with the best. ;) That’s it! I am going to leave on Monday at Moscow. There were 48 hallucinating hours, but they didn’t end as i wished.
