Filipos Darlas: "I will negotiate, but there are fewer chances to come!"

Darlas says that he heard about Steaua’s offer, but the transfer will be made only if Steaua guarantees him a salary of 300.000 euro

Being on the list of acquisition of the club from Ghencea, the Greek left defender Filipos Darlas admitted that is tempted by an adventure in League 1. But he wanted to mention: without a contract of 300.000 euro for one year, as he has now at Panathinaikos, Steaua may forget about him. The discussion on the phone with Gazeta was first in English, then in Romanian. One friend of him, a graduate of ANEFS from Bucharest, translated the questions from Romanian into Greek and reverse.

- Hello, Filipos! Do you know about Steaua’s interest?
- Yes, I know from the press and from the journalists who called me many times lately.

- Are you inclined to play in League 1?
- Why dot! But, sincerely speaking, I think there are chances of 1% to play at Steaua!

- Why?
- Let me explain. Recently, Panathinaikos has refused a proposal of definitive transfer from Omonia Nicosia. Cypriots offered 400.000 euro, and my club didn’t want to hear about a sum less than half a million. Can Steaua give so much money for me?! I have heard that they want only free players... Besides, it is also about my salary.

-A salary of 300.000 euro per year?
- Almost. I don’t know if there is any club in Romania which can offer me such a salary. That is why I said that there are fewer chances for me to play at Steaua.

- Did any official from Steaua call you?
- No one, but I am disposed to speak and negotiate, with my agent.

- We shall understand that if you receive the money you want, you would come in Romania?
- Of course I would?! Steaua is a well-known name in Europe; they played every year in Champions League... I repeat, if we agree about the financial part, I will be glad to sign.

- And if you don’t?
- I will choose one of the offers I will have. Don’t forget that I am not on the streets, I still have a contract with Panathinaikos and I can stay here for another year.



Okocha won’t come"
The site www.football365.fr wrote yesterday that Awudu Okocha (24 years old), the forward from Maccabi Netanya, would be wanted at Steaua, but his agented negated: "The football player has been proposed in Romania only at Rapid and CFR Cluj, but the first variant fell". The team from Ghencea wanted to take one week ago the Serbian central midfielder Nemanja Matici (21 years old), from the Slovak team FK Kosice, but the transfer was not concluded. Meanwhile, the football player signed with Udinese, and his agent, Boban Simici, explained why Steaua lost him. "The offer was not serious. They wanted to take him first as a borrowing, and then to take him definitively for a small price. Udinese offered 1,5 million euro and they took him immediately", said the agent for Cancan. They return today from the training camp
Last night, around 8 o’clock, Steaua’s delegation will return from the training camp from Austria. The coach Cristiano Bergodi will give tomorrow a day off to the players, and then he will schedule a training session. On Saturday, the team from Ghencea will present its players, and starting with 21:00 there will take place the friendly match with Genclerbirligi. You can still find tickets for the presentation match in all the areas of the stadium. The prices are between 10 lei (grounds) and 40 lei (tribune 0). (Andra Lefter)

The transfer of the Bulgarian Bibişkov was ironized by Eugen Trică. "If Bibişkov was that good, Litex would have kept him in the team, because they have a rich sponsor. 200.000 euro was the amount which they would have paid immediately, if he has any value", said the midfielder who returned to CFR. "Trică shall stay calm and he shouldn’t be bothered by Bibişkov! Trică speaks always bad about Steaua and it’s a pity, because he ate a white bred in Ghencea", replied Valeriu Argăseală.
