The match started with the furious domination of Germans. "The bull" Ribery, motivated by a terrible determination and Klose, transformed from goal-getter into the perfect servant, they charged the weapons of the gunner Toni. The Italian missed very easily 4 great occasions (6, 7, 8, 13), which could have written on the scoreboard an incredible score from the very beginning of the match.
Steaua was afraid in the first quarter, but the captain Rădoi encouraged his colleagues, by giving a surprising shot from over 20 meters, which dodged the elbow of the scoreboard kept by Rensing (26). Two minutes later, Klose walked away from Steaua’s players and he scored, but his success was annulled for an offside. Steaua tried smoothing else through the free kick given by Rădoi (39) and the shot given by Goian (43), but Steaua could only point at the chapter shots at the scoreboard, 3-0. Instead, they lost Goian for the match with Fiorentina, suspended because he accumulated yellow cards.
If in the first half Steaua made a good game, the second half was a serious rush for the Germans. After the warnings given by de Toni (50, 54), Klose managed to score for the first time in Zapata’s goalpost, after a confused phase made by the forwards from Steaua. Hardly had Dorinel’s players came round that Toni broke the bad luck and scored after a very good phase (61), but at the cost of an accident. Ten minutes later, Ribery showed once again how a counter-attack is made, and he left Klose alone with Zapata for 3-0 and for the end of the match.
Steaua reached this way at 13 matches without a victory in all the competitions and they have to solve immediately the situation in order to save the impression about this championship tour, against Unirea Urziceni and Fiorentina. Steaua must win in front of this team, Fiorentina, in order to arrive in the UEFA Cup spring.
