Steaua is still fighting for the knock-out rounds after yesterday's spectacular victory against Utrecht.
Steaua took no time and had a first chance in the opening moments of the game when Surdu pulled a terrific shot saved by Vorn. The game was stopped for a few minutes because of Steaua's supporters, but it got going again fast.
Utrecht started to get in the game, but still didn't manage to create any chances. Apostol fired wide (13), while von Wolfswinkel. finally pulled the courage to shot but nothing came out of it.
Lăcătuş is pushing his side from the bench and his players do the job. Gardoş jumps higher than any other player in the goal area and scores! A lucky goal for Steaua because Vorn somehow managed to catch the ball behind the line.
The advantage lasted only a few minutes, because Mertens tied the game with an excellent free kick. Great goal for the Dutch. Geraldo was close to injury, but managed to return in the field.
The Puss is back
Steaua started of great in the second half. Bănel pulls a cross, Tănase tries to head the ball, but fails. It reaches Stancu and Steaua's striker puts his team once again in the lead. Again Stancu is the right man at the right time. Nicoliţă shoot's from an angle and The Puss dives to score Steaua's 3-1 goal.
Surdu asked for a penalty, but nothing from the referee. It was a foul, but not in the eyes of the Russian referee. The Dutch are making their way to Tătăruşanu's goal, but waste their chances, the goalie is unbeatable.
