BCR Open Romania's organizers announced today the entry list for the next edition which will start on the 20th of September.
The title holder Albert Montanes will be the number one seed of the tournament. At this time, the Spaniard is world number 23 after a good season with titles won at Estoril and Stuttgart. Victor Hănescu will also participate and will try to get past the first round for the first time in the last two years.
Among crowd favorites will be Jeremy Chardy (FRA), Juan Ignacio Chela (ARG), Florian Mayer (GER), Potito Starace (ITA) and Filippo Volandri (ITA). Carlos Berlocq (ARG), Igor Andreev (RUS) and Teymuraz Gabashvili (RUS) could also reach the main draw.
BCR Open Romania will start on the 18th of September with the qualifying matches, while the main draw will begin on September 20th. The final will take place on the 26th of September on the "Arena Centrală". The tickets will cost 10 lei from Monday to Wednesday, Thursday - 20 de lei, Friday - 30 de lei, Saturday - 40 de lei and Sunday - 50 de lei.
SURPRISE WILD-CARD
"Two of the three wild-cards will go to Victor Crivoi and Adrian Ungur, while the third will go to a player who will exit early at the US Open and would like to come to our tournament or to Marius Copil", said Bogdan Enoiu, tournament organizer.
This year's edition will be host to two exhibition matches on 22nd and 23rd of September. Tickets will be sold separatly and will cost 30 lei.
The 2010 stars will be Mats Wilander, Henri Leconte, Mansour Baharami and Ilie Năstase. The four will play a doubles match on the 22nd, while Mats Wilander will play a single's match on the 23rd with a player that will be announced soon.
